Our Capella Culturists have spent time scouring Bangkok, leaving no leaf unturned in our quest to provide you with unforgettable moments, immersing into the local community to engage and discover local heritage and culture, discovering new skills, and meeting some fascinating people along the way.
We understand escapism beyond the simple indulgence of travel and seek, through knowledge, empathy and respect for our surroundings, to create ‘Capella Curates’; a selection of experiences designed to become lifelong memories.
CAPELLA CULTURISTS
Described as our resident culture seekers, our Capella Culturists are always on hand to guide you through a unique experience of the city. With an insatiable curiosity and a penchant for uncovering the latest treasures along Charoen Krung Road, our Culturists can arrange walking tours of Bangkok’s eclectic local café culture, private meditation sessions with the head monk of a 250-year-old temple, or share with you the best dishes to order at Michelin-starred food stall Jay Fai, whose eponymous owner is considered the queen of Thai street food.
Avid explorers, our Capella Culturists pride themselves on scouring every corner of Bangkok in search of breath-taking scenery, delicious regional dishes and fascinating characters.
Your Capella Culturist will provide a full itinerary of activities and events hosted in the Living Room during your stay.
Little Stars Programme
Capella Bangkok is a delightful destination for families, with thoughtful touches designed exclusively for young guests. Children are invited to personalise their stay with complimentary in-room amenities such as a cosy kids’ teepee, feather-soft bathrobes and playful slippers.
Beyond their room, little ones can enjoy a variety of curated Little Stars programme — unique experiences crafted to inspire creativity, spark joy, and make every stay truly unforgettable.
THE LIVING ROOM
Blissful daydreaming is inevitable as you look out across the majestic Chao Phraya River from the Living Room at Capella Bangkok. In the morning, gather here to peruse your carefully-curated itinerary and learn Siamese phrases with your Culturist before exploring the neighbourhood. As the sun sets, reunite with friends, family and fellow discoverers to trade stories about your day over a creative libation at the adjoining alfresco terrace.
If a more peaceful day is on the agenda, the Living Room offers respite from the vibrant bustle beyond its walls. Be led into Moments of Mindfulness by a Wat Suthi temple monk or listen to stories about the history of Charoen Krung Road – Bangkok’s first paved road built by the order of King Rama IV in 1861 – and the heart of the city’s vibrant creative arts district. Here you will also discover how to weave Thai flower garlands, marvel at the artistry behind Khon dance and pick up a traditional Thai musical instrument under the guidance of our local experts.
Capella Youth
Nurturing independency amongst youths with special needs
Every child deserves proper education. But in many rapidly developing cities, thousands of youths are born with the odds stacked against them and find themselves in a poverty cycle. Adopting “Wat Bang Chang Nuea” school in Nakhon Pathom province, Capella Bangkok is dedicated to help break the wheel and make a difference in the lives of these children, nurturing confidence to craft the future they desire. Wat Bang Chang Nuea currently only has seven teachers to meet the needs of the 101 students aged between 3 and 12 years old.
Aside from elevating cafeteria meals and rebuilding facilities that encourage learning and exploration, English lessons and enriching activities aimed at raising resilient leaders of tomorrow will be curated. More than just education, this long-term engagement allows us to be a constant positive presence in youths lives, offering them a slice of stability and comfort.
